Publishing Old Games?

All 90 hours of Everlong with all original assets. Let's do it.

And yeah, having done this myself twice now (Soma Spirits, and recently Brave Hero Yuusha) it's definitely something you have to carefully assess and ensure that your new version has enough substantial upgrades to be worth a purchase. Like you can't just add one new character and slap a price tag on it, or people are going to think you're just looking for a quick cash grab and then go download the old one.

If money is your goal, then get a second job, or a side job if you're in school. Keep your passion as a passion.

I'm also going to super, super emphasize the quote above because it's very unlikely that selling games is going to be your ride, and the percentage of indie developers who can sustain themselves on games alone is easily in the single digits. Soma and Yuusha were a nice bit of extra pocket money, but it's not something I'd ever quit my full time job for.

Neither of my games were one of the big RPG Maker darlings to begin with. I really just did it as a personal goal.

Please don't work yourself to shreds ;__;

Hmm, well I don't know how credible your plea to not work ourselves to shreds is when your name is literally slash.

IT'S HERE! Brave Hero Yuusha EX is available!

Thanks, all! I hope Yuusha gets a great second chance.

Hope you all enjoy the game!

[RMMV] [RMVX ACE] Okay, Let's Have This Discussion: Sample Maps

author=StormCrow
BUT is it okay to use sample maps if you're doing so because you're a veteran who doesn't like mapping (or is just plain burnt out on it) and prefer to focus on all the other aspects of your game, or is it never acceptable and will prevent your game from being taken seriously/played at all?

I don't see the harm in using sample maps for stuff like internal testing, super small-scale projects, or if you're building something within the project file where exploration isn't really a key element. But if you're a veteran who has made something on a grander scale and then you're trying to bill Eric_On_Sample_Town1.exe as your frontrunner project then yeah, people are going to say something.

Making games? What motivates you?

I guess I just wanted to make something when, for a very long time, I did very little creatively. I wanted to tell stories, and that's why I started making games six years ago.

But I never really saw it as resume or portfolio-building, or building up clout or some big audience; I just make games to tell stories and make people happy. I never thought of developing games as "work" and even with my second commercial project launching in a few days, I'll always be a hobbyist at heart. I don't aspire to be anything more than that, and that is what I am comfortable with.

I'm glad I was able to do that and make a difference to someone.

What age range are the characters in your games?

If that bot is named funnyjokes then boy there had better be some funnyjokes in the pipeline

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition is up for some competition.

AND a Mario game!

I literally picked the 11th because it was my day off from work lol.

But the way I figure it is: there's so many games being released all the time that you're always going to be up against something bigger no matter what, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Three Ghostly Roses Review

Excuse me, it's called 3 Ghostly Roses, not 2.5 Ghostly Roses.
